What is an Exalted Orb?

The Exalted Orb is one of the most-used currency items in Path of Exile 2. Where the Divine Orb is the rare, high-value benchmark, the Exalted Orb is the common building currency — the orb you reach for constantly while crafting Rare gear. Because it is widely held and always in demand, it also serves as a convenient early-league trading baseline before most players have accumulated Divine Orbs.

That combination of high utility and steady supply keeps the Exalted Orb price relatively stable compared with the swingier high-end currencies, which makes it a useful reference point for valuing everyday items.

What does an Exalted Orb do?

An Exalted Orb augments a Rare item with one new random modifier. You right-click the orb, then left-click a Rare item, and it adds a single random affix to that item — up to its maximum number of modifiers. It does not reroll or remove anything that is already there; it only adds.

That makes the Exalted Orb the natural tool for building a Rare item upward. You start from a base with good modifiers and use Exalted Orbs to fill the remaining open affix slots, hoping to hit useful mods. Because each add is random, high-end crafting pairs Exalted Orbs with Omens and other currencies to control the outcome.

Exalted Orb price & value

The live Exalted Orb price at the top of this page is pulled hourly from poe.ninja for the current league. An Exalted Orb is currently worth about 0.42 Chaos Orbs, with roughly 81 Exalted Orbs to one Divine Orb. Early in a league Exalted Orbs hold relatively more value because crafting demand is high and Divine Orbs are scarce; as the league matures and wealth accumulates, value tends to consolidate into Divine.

How to get Exalted Orbs

Exalted Orbs drop from monsters, chests and containers throughout the campaign and endgame, and from anything that rewards currency. They are far more common than Divine Orbs, so active mapping will steadily build a stack. The fastest way to accumulate them, though, is the same as any currency: run efficient content and sell your valuable drops. How to craft with an Exalted Orb

Right-click an Exalted Orb and left-click a Rare item that still has open modifier slots to add a random affix. The key decision is the base you start from: only invest Exalted Orbs into a Rare that already has one or more strong, relevant modifiers, so the value of the existing mods carries the item even if the new roll is mediocre.

Slamming Exalted Orbs onto a weak base is gambling — you are paying for a random affix with no guarantee it is useful. For valuable crafts, players combine Exalted Orbs with Omens (to bias which affix type is added) and finish with a Divine Orb to perfect the numeric rolls once the right modifiers are present.

Exalted Orb FAQ

What is the current POE2 Exalted Orb price?

The Exalted Orb price moves constantly with supply and demand. This page shows the live rate in Chaos Orbs and as a fraction of a Divine Orb, refreshed hourly from poe.ninja market data for the current league. For the full currency table and buy/sell signals, see the Exiled Tools Currency Desk.

What does an Exalted Orb do in Path of Exile 2?

An Exalted Orb augments a Rare item with one new random modifier, up to the item’s modifier limit. You right-click the orb and left-click a Rare item to apply it. It is the core currency for building up Rare gear one affix at a time.

Are Exalted Orbs common in POE2?

Yes — in Path of Exile 2 the Exalted Orb is one of the more common high-utility currencies and the everyday workhorse for crafting Rares, which is why it is often used as the early-league trading baseline before Divine Orbs accumulate.

How many Exalted Orbs is a Divine Orb worth?

The Divine-to-Exalted ratio changes throughout a league. The live figure at the top of this page is derived from current poe.ninja prices. Because a Divine is the high-value benchmark and an Exalted is the common building currency, one Divine is worth many Exalted Orbs.

Should I use Exalted Orbs or sell them?

Use Exalted Orbs when you are actively crafting a Rare item and want to add modifiers to a promising base. If you are not crafting, holding or trading them for upgrades is usually more efficient than spending them on random outcomes.
